2026-10-22 SOAP API: Retry response during high load - TEST environment
5 days ago by Henrik Hyllner
TimeEdit SOAP API updated. When a customer environment receives more requests than it can handle at the moment, the extra requests are now refused with a retry response instead of waiting until they time out.
- Retry response
- HTTP status
429 Too Many Requests - HTTP header
Retry-After: 2(seconds) - SOAP Fault with faultcode
soap:Server.TooManyRequestsand<detail><retryAfterSeconds>2</retryAfterSeconds></detail>, for clients that do not expose HTTP headers (for example JAX-WS or WCF)
- HTTP status
- A refused request has not been carried out and can safely be sent again
- Recommendation: retry after the given time and wait longer between each new attempt (retry with backoff). Avoid sending many requests in parallel.
- Security updates of the underlying platform. No changes to SOAP operations or the WSDL.
